NYA brouhaha: AFAG man vindicated

Arnold Boateng Arnold Boateng

A board member of the National Youth Authority, Arnold Boateng who resigned from his post over some serious “issues” at the authority which did not correspond with his principle has been vindicated following the ordering of the former CEO of the NYA boss was asked to vacate his office with immediate effect.

By a letter to the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, through the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr Boateng said he can no longer serve in the role he has been occupying for the past two years.

“The past two years have been a period of service and great lessons I would for a long time cherish,” he stated.

But he claims the “issues” at the Authority warrant the immediate attention of the president.

“There are issues at the Authority, which I am unhappy about but cannot comment on as a result of my oath of secrecy as a board member.”

“I would, therefore, urge you to take keen interest at the Authority to ensure best practice, appropriate conduct and actions.” He said.

NYA Chief Executive Officer [CEO], Emmanuel Sin-nyet Asigri has been asked to leave his office over some procurement practices.

The Public Procurement Authority has reportedly being asked to investigate the allegations against Asigri.

The matter has also been referred to the National Security for further investigation.
