Namibia delegation understudies Ghana's NSS

A delegation from National Youth Service of Namibia on Monday called on Ghana’s Education Minister as part of the collaboration to under study Ghana’s National Service Scheme (NSS).

Mr Charles Kabayane, Board Member of Namibian Youth Service and Leader of the delegation said the visit is to share working experience, learn more on how the Ghana National Scheme operates and its achievements so far over the years. Mr Kabayane said Ghana has had experiences through venturing into supporting the youth, and are in the country to learn to empower the youth of Namibia for development and nation building.

He said issues that would be under studied are the budgeting, processes of selection, and who to target. “This would gear the youth towards the future independence we are fighting for and nation building for development,” he said.

Mr Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa, Deputy Minister in charge of Tertiary Education said the visit would go a long way to develop the vibrant youth of both nations to facilitate development. Mr Ablakwa said Ghana’s National Service Scheme has the full backing of the law and has helped to manage the economy for development.

He said the level of commitment that has been inculcated into the youth from both countries is a good initiation that should not be left in other to put them on the right pedestal.
