The New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate for 2016, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has made a quick dash to South Africa for a private visit.
“I am in Johannesburg, South Africa, this evening with two Ghanaians resident here, Messrs Safo and Kudjoe, who invited me for a private visit this weekend. I return home on Monday,” Nana Addo said on his Twitter handle.
The social media has been agog with rumours that the NPP standard bearer had been rushed to South Africa for medical treatment.
Nana Akufo-Addo had earlier on Wednesday evening delivered a lecture on the NPP’s policy on youth where he emphasised employment for the teeming jobless youth whose future had been rendered hopeless by the John Mahama administration.
“I fear for Ghana. I am frightened about the future the NDC is building for the young people of this country. It is a future of indebtedness; a future of hopelessness; it is a wretched future being needlessly created by a reckless government. The prospect of another four years of this scares me and so must it scare you too. Twelve straight years of NDC would leave you, the young people of Ghana, with no future of note,” he bemoaned.
