Nana Addo rejects Addison's petitions

Nana Akufo-Addo - NPP Presidential Candidate Nana Akufo-Addo - NPP Presidential Candidate

New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Candidate Nana Akufo-Addo has turned down a petition from the failed NPP Parliamentary candidate for Korle Klottey, Lawyer Philip Addison over the just ended parliamentary primary in the constituency.

Nana Addo has directed lawyer Addison to forward his petition to the General Secretary of the party Kwabena Agyepong, Kasapafmonline.com can reveal.

Some of the issues he wanted to be probed include; the illegalities in the entire election process, the uncertain date for voting and the fact that half of the delegates did not vote in the election.

The Accra-based Lawyer lost his bid to become the NPP’s 2016 Parliamentary candidate for the Korle Klottey Constituency when he was trounced in the election that saw him poll a paltry 22 votes as against his main competitor Nii Nortey’s 393 votes.

The other contestant, Adjei Tawiah, had some 19 votes.

Lawyer Addison prior to the election had asked for an extension of the date for the election as he claimed the party’s notice for the polls came very late. The party nonetheless proceeded with the polls.

Lawyer Addison has severally expressed his disappointment over the manner in which the elections were held and has publicly stated that he is not prepared to support the campaign of Nii Noi Nortey in the run up to the 2016 elections unless the party addresses his concerns.
