Nana Addo will serve one term after Ghanaians realise he is very corrupt - Anyidoho

Corruption under President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is poised to be greater than it was under former president John Dramani Mahama as according to Koku Anyidoho.

The Deputy General Secretary of the largest opposition party says Nana Addo spurred on corruption by performing the "immoral act" of appointing 110 ministers.

Anyidoho believes the large number of ministers will put pressure on the public purse.

Speaking with local TV network, UTV, Koku stated that, upon his observation of Nana Addo, he has realised that the president is not serious with fighting corruption.

He was speaking in reaction to Nana Addo speech on his government's fight against corruption.

“When I listen to the tape it looks as if he is not serious because he was laughing about it. Corruption takes many forms; immoral act is also corruption and appointing 110 ministers is immoral act. He is putting pressure on public purse and the government agencies are filled with families, friends and party cronies,” he retorted.

According to him, he believes that Nana Addo will be given just a one term in office as John Mahama was.

“The same way Ghanaians voted out NDC in 2016, they will vote out NPP in 2020; that I can assure you because the reason they voted against NDC, they will vote against NPP in 2020," he added.

Anyidoho was, however, optimistic that Ghanaians would turn back to the NDC in the 2020 General Elections.
