The Chief Executive Officer of Access To Justice, a human rights NGO in Sunyani, Rev Nana Adjei Ntow, has picked nomination forms to contest the parliamentary primary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Sunyani West constituency.
The decision by the NDC heavy weight to contest in the primary has set the stage open for other possible big wigs to enter the race. Already, there are reports two other bigwigs of the party would soon pick their nomination forms.
The human rights campaigner was first to pick the nomination form last Monday at the party’s office.
Nana Ntow called on the supporters of the party to rally behind him, in order to wrestle the parliamentary seat from the NPP.
Bubbling with confidence, Nana Adjei Ntow said he is the heavy weight to wrestle the seat from the NPP, because he would be able to attract floating voters.
Touching on what he would do for Sunyani West, he pointed out that he would provide better leadership and accelerate development in the constituency.
The Sunyani West parliamentary seat is currently occupied by Hon. Ignatius Baffour Awuah, who was the Brong-Ahafo regional minister before the NPP lost power in 2008.
Aspirants have up to September 16, 2011 to submit their completed forms after which they would go through vetting before a date for the elections would be announced.
