Nana Akufo-Addo campaigns in Volta Region

Hohoe, July 14, GNA - Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, a presidential aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has said there was insincerity in President John Atta Mills' "A Better Ghana" agenda. He said unprecedented suffering and lack of sympathy for the masses had rendered the "Better Ghana" agenda and "I care for you" slogan a misnomer.

Nana Akufo-Addo said this in an interaction with delegates from Hohoe North and Hohoe South constituencies as part of his campaign tour of the Volta Region.

He had already toured Krachi West, Krachi East, Nkwanta North Nkwanta South, Akan, Buem and North Dayi constituencies. Nana Akufo-Addo said Ghanaians were facing "political illusion" by giving their mandate to the National Democratic Congress and are hoping for a return of the NPP in 2012. He appealed to the polling station executives to do the honourable thing by voting for him massively at the August 7 congress. Nana Akufo-Addo said he would resource polling station executives if given the mandate to be the party's presidential candidate in Election 2012.

Mr Boakye Agyarko, the Campaign Manager, said the credentials of Nana Akufo-Addo, loyalty and service to the party combined with his long experience in political life and profession stands him in a good stead. He said the aspirant was marketed extensively and had become a household name and granting him the flagship of the party would make NPP indomitable at the 2012 polls. Mr Dominic Nitiwul, member of campaign team, said the August 7 congress was about sacrifice, commitment and bravery and that Nana Akufo-Addo had the heart to administer the country. Mr Kwabena Otchere-Darko, a campaign team member, said the aspirant has no records of corruption levelled against him and has the capacity to make the country great and strong. Madam Mawusi Nudekor Awity said Nana Akufo-Addo represented positive change, competence, regional balance and right chemistry between the young and the old. 14 July 10
