Nana Akufo-Addo intensify's re-election bid

Abisim Yeboah (E/R), Nov. 30, GNA - The Member of Parliament of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for Abuakwa South and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has appealed to the electorate to vote massively for the NPP in Election 2004.

He said the first term of the Government, had witnessed significant improvement in the lives of farmers, especially cocoa farmers, and the provision of amenities such as roads and schools. Nana Akufo-Addo, who is seeking re-election, was addressing political rallies in communities that had been voting against the NPP since 1992.

The communities comprised: Adjapomaa; Akim Ajumako; Bomponso Number Two, Ntaabea and Adotowa.

The Minister said even those opposed to the Government could testify to its development track record.

He expressed optimism that the NPP was going to win the election by a very large margin never recorded in the electoral history of the country and urged those opposed to the Party to join the winning team.

The East Akim District Chief Executive, Mr Emmanuel Victor Asihene said the District Assembly would implement a special package next January, to motivate teachers to accept postings to the rural areas. The Abuakwa South Constituency Chairman of NPP, Nana Benin called on polling agents of the Party to be vigilant on the polling day to avoid any electoral irregularities.
