Nana Dr. Appiagyei Dankawoso I, the President of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has donated foodstuffs and assorted items to the Country-side Children’s Welfare Home at Bawjiase in the Central Region.

The items included boxes of healthy life drinks, 10 boxes of drugs from Kinapharma, bags of rice, sugar and gari, four gallons of cooking oil and toiletries as well as an unspecified amount of cash. Nana Dankawoso, who had donated to the Bawjiase Orphanage every year in the last 10 years, said it was out of care and love that he did that together with his family.

He noted that this was his first visit in the year to the Bawjiase Orphanage, where he visited twice every year. “I visit them twice every year. The first is the beginning of every new year and on my birthdays as well,” he said.

He said he believed in the act of giving to the needy and helping them to prosper, adding that it was a way he and his family could appreciate God for bring them this far. “Personally I have my philosophy that you take care of others and God will take care of you. I see this gesture as an opportunity presented by God for me to help others prosper especially this place.

“We do this to show appreciation to the Lord for how far he has brought us as a family,” he said. Nana Dr Dankawoso called on other well-meaning Ghanaians to cultivate the habit of giving to the needy and helping the vulnerable.

“We also have about 500 widows on our help list who also receive support from my family and myself. I started with donations to the prisons last year. I have been giving educational support to this orphanage by paying fees up to the tertiary level. “The generous shall prosper and he who waters shall be watered. It is very satisfying to meet up with the needy and offer help. I entreat all to emulate this example. These children need a lot of help,” he said.

Mr Osei Owusu, the Manager at the Bawjiase Country-side Children’s Welfare Home, who received the items, thanked Nana Dr Dankawoso and his family for their continuous support to the Home.

He promised to put every item to good use and appealed to the benevolent society to emulate the gesture and come to their aid adding that the Home still needed a lot of help to support the children.
