Ghanaians have been advised to show greater commitment to national development issues to help achieve the aspirations of the people.
A statement jointly issued in Kumasi by two political think-tanks- the Social Democrats and Campaign for Mahama 2016, said nation building thrives on consensus building and patriotism.
“It is good for us as a nation to be hardworking, modest in our lifestyles, optimistic and God-fearing as we aspire to achieve our development objectives,” the statement, jointly signed by Togbe Mawufeame Fugah and Ms. Gifty Oteng, Patrons of the Groups said.
“A nation without patriotic citizens is bound to fail," it said, and expressed the need for the people to shun lukewarm attitude to work, greed and laziness to increase productivity in all aspects of the economy.
The statement urged the people to use the Easter festivities to embrace social harmony and good neighborliness.
This, it said, is essential for peaceful co-existence and sustenance of peace and unity.
The statement called on religious bodies to pray fervently for the leadership of the nation as they seek to find answers to the everyday challenges impeding the growth of the nation.
