National Accreditation Board acts against institute

The J-Prompt Professional Institute has not been re-accredited by the National Accreditation Board (NAB) as a result of its disregard for rules and regulations.

“J-Prompt Professional Institute cannot operate as Tutorial College after expiration of its initial accreditation granted it to operate as such,” NAB stated in the statement signed by Mr Kwame Dattey, the Executive Secretary.

NAB explained that the decision not to re-accredit J-Prompt Professional Institute was based on its conduct of flagrant disregard for directives not to run unaccredited programmes including Medical Assistantship.

The statement said the action of J-Prompt was in contravention of section 8(3) of the NAB Act, 2007 (Act 744) and Regulation 27 of the Tertiary Institutions (Establishment and Accreditation) Regulations, 2010 (L.I. 1984).

The statement said implication of the revocation is that J-Prompt is to cease all fresh student admissions into the Professional Graduate Diploma in Information Technology Programme as well as any other tertiary level academic or professional programme the institution purports to run.

NAB further cautioned the public, especially residents to take note of the non-renewal of accreditation and desist from responding to advertisements enticing them to enroll in J-Prompt Professional Institute or the programme it purports to run.

“Further, any person that does business with this institution does so at his or her own risk”, it added.
