National Democratic Congress is disappointed

Accra, Oct. 15, GNA - The National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Friday expressed disappointment about the state of the Provisional Voters' Register currently on display throughout the country.

A statement signed by Dr Josiah Aryeh, General Secretary of the Party, said with the NDC monitoring the process at various polling stations, clear trends have been established involving missing names, wrong photographs and various other errors and omissions. It said based on daily accounting sheets provided by the Electoral Commission, clear evidence has also emerged of names added on after the completion of the registration exercise, stating "NDC is comprehensively compiling nationwide data on the above matters".

The NDC urged all members, supporters and the general citizenry to ensure that their names appear on the register and help to root out fraudsters and impostors whose names might have wrongly found their way on to the register.

The Party further urged citizens to ensure that in case of omission or multiple registration they should complete appropriate forms and to send copies to the Party's Headquarters.

The statement encouraged all card-carrying Party members as well as regional and constituency executives to note names and particulars of citizens with complaints about the current process and forward the names to the National Headquarters for action.
