National Elections For July 2003?

A staunch member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the Atta Mills campaign team has said emphatically that there will be fresh elections in July this year. She therefore asked President Kufuor to sack his Ministers and await the elections.

Miss Tay was speaking on Metro TV’s ''Good Morning Ghana'' programme. She spoke on phone. Alarmed at her statement, the host, Randy Abbey asked the lady to repeat what she had just said. She categorically repeated it and said she is aware that there will be fresh elections in July this year.

The Managing Editor of the Independent, Egbert Faibille who was on the panel said Miss Tay’s statement was highly treasonable since by the constitution of the Republic of Ghana, every one in Ghana knows that the next elections will be held in 2004.

However since Miss Tay has been so emphatic and repeated the statement, it showed that she seemed to be aware of something concerning the security of the state and therefore needed to be investigated.
