Wife of Member of Parliament for Odododiodio Nii Lantey Vanderpuye has dismissed reports that personnel from the National Security and Bureau of National Investigations invaded their residence to seize vehicles allegedly belonging to the State.
According to Naa Komley Vanderpuye, a group of men numbering about twenty demanded entry into their house at Aplaku to retrieve two saloon cars and an SUV they claimed had been stolen from the State.
She stated that the men also asserted that they were from the National Security and BNI.
Mrs. Vanderpuye however denied them entry since they did not have any warrant. She added that an official from the National Security spoke to her stating that his outfit was unaware of any such operation.
“I had a call from a guy at the National Security Operations and he told me that he was not aware of any operation like that… they’ve not sent any guys from National Security or BNI to come to our house to inspect or take any cars”, she said.
She further noted that the District Police commander was called to move to the house but by the time he got there some NDC party executives, family, friends and supporters had amassed at the scene.
The alleged National Security and BNI operatives to waited behind the gates for close to three hours for their colleague to return with the warrant but left the scene after they failed to show up.
The former Sports’ Minister is currently in the UK on holidays and has condemned the hostile act by the men.
