National Security warns UEW VC Afful Broni, others over tarnishing government image

The National Security has cautioned the Vice Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) Rev. Prof. Afful Broni and Alhassan Salifu Bawa, a Lecturer and in-Charge of Basic Education at the same university to desist from tarnishing the image of the Akufo Addo led government with their reprehensible actions.

The Vice Chancellor has been accused of colluding with Alhassan Salifu Bawa to cause confusion at the university and also publishing series of false stories which attack the personality of the MP for Effutu, Alexander Afenyo-Markin and in some cases impugning criminality against him all in a bid to sabotage the government.

Some supporters and sympathizers of the NPP, as well as concerned students of the University of Education, Winneba and some residents of Effutu community who have expressed disquiet over the conduct of Alhassan Salifu Bawa has reportedly petitioned the National Security over his conduct.

The group further indicated that the postings of false stories by Alhassan Salifu Bawa are intended to tarnish the MP’s image to create the impression that there’s chaos at UEW so as to bring the government into disrepute.

Pursuant to this, a confidential letter written by the Minister of National Security Hon. Albert Kan Dapaah addressed to the Chairman, National Council for Tertiary Education, a copy of which is in the possession of Kasapafmonline.com referred the conduct of Alhassan Salifu Bawa to the Council.
