Navrongo Central Constituency PNC aspirant declares unopposed

Navrongo (UE), June 11, GNA - Mr Scott Gabriel Pwamang, a 48-year -old legal practitioner was at the weekend declared unopposed, the Parliamentary Candidate for the People's National Convention (PNC) for the Navrongo Central Constituency in the Upper East Region. Officials of the Electoral Commission under the supervision of the Regional party executives pronounced Mr Pwamang unopposed since there was no contender.

Out of the 180 delegates in the constituency, 150 who were present at the delegates' conference all voted for Mr Pwamang. He thanked the delegates for the confidence reposed in him and promised to work diligently to win the seat for the party. Mr Pwamang asked the delegates to work assiduously to win more people to the party to enable it capture the seat for the Constituency. He said it was only the PNC that could bring more development to the area and asked the electorates to vote the party to power. He said he would give priority to education by ensuring that, students of the area attained higher education in order to alleviate poverty in the area.

Mr Pwamang said, he would also help ensure that people in the area, especially the youth were empowered to go into agriculture to prevent them from migrating to the southern sector in search of non-existent jobs.

Again he promised to help women with micro credit to undertake economic ventures.

He asked members of the party who had left the party to return to it to enable PNC win the 2008 elections. Alhaji Baba Mohammed and Mr Yakubu Bogobire, Regional Chairman and the Constituency Vice Chairman respectively, jointly entreated the party foot soldiers to remain vigilant and united. They urged party executives and supporters to ensure that their campaigns were devoid of insults and violence. 11 June 08
