Nduom Declares

Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom a leading member of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP) has spoken passionately about his intentions to give Ghana the drive, energy and purposeful direction it needs to create opportunities for everyone.
Speaking eloquently on Joy fm an Accra based radio station the Convention People’s Party (CPP) Member of Parliament for the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abirim (KEEA) Constituency, described as unacceptable the continuous appointment of D.C.E. and Mayors and promised to have them elected by the people they wish to serve “if they are going to serve the people why not give the people the chance to choose” he asked. He on the same platform availed himself to contest for the flagbearership of his party come the party’s congress in September 2008. Dr. Nduom said he was sure that after the CPP’s national congress to select party officers, a new team of dynamic, farsighted and visionary leaders would be selected to run the affairs of the party. This he said will send a strong signal to the other Political Parties and a message to Ghanaians that the CPP was back, new and in tune.
He said the CPP he will lead will be new and will be revitalised and different from the old one. The new CPP will attract traditional CPP voters as well as people from different political spectrum. “I am talking about adding something new to revive and re-brand the party to make it attractive.” he said. Dr. Nduom said the CPP is in a position to contest and win the presidency if the party does what is expected of it in terms of having strong structures at all polling stations and having leaders who can market the party. Giving the mandate to lead the Party he will work hard and not rest until CPP is where it belongs – in government.
An Nduom led government he said will be providing the answers, the solutions to our problems. He will be working to meet the aspiration of all Ghanaians. This he said was his reason for being in politics. “We have to do a better job of the old-fashioned way of confronting the real problems of real people and pointing the way to a better future”. This he said was his challenge
Mr. Mike Eghan, a former CPP National Vice Chairman had this to say after the programme on the number of CPP presidential aspirants “Devoid of all emotions, I would humbly suggest that among the array of the good candidates for the CPP flagbearership, Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom who has served as an assemblyman, an MP an a Minister of State has the experience, is someone with the required vision, proven organisational skills, exceptional dynamism, towering political pedigree and unmatched international exposure, who can unite the party and who will easily be accepted by the rank and file of the party and the swing voters who will not only lead our party but lead a CPP government”
