Disqualified flagbearer of the Progressive people’s Party (PPP), Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom is bracing himself for a legal tussle with the Electoral Commission (EC) to challenge his disqualification.

Ultimatefmonline.com, has gathered that Dr Nduom is assembling 18 legal brains to lead the case in court seeking to reverse the decision of the EC Chair Madam Charlotte Osei.

Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom on Tuesday, begged for 5 minutes with the Commissioner indicating that it will enable him rectify the anomalies in his nomination forms and qualify him to run for the presidency.

Madam Charlotte Osei in response said not even a minute, two; three, four or five can make any difference to the fact that he has been disqualified from running as a presidential candidate for the 2016 elections.

“I don’t know what five extra minutes can do……I am not sure it will make any difference “, she said.

Subsequently Dr Nduom on Wednesday was granted the audience but is unclear clear if he made any headway.

What is clear though, is that the Electoral Commission has brought the nomination process for presidential candidates to an end despite the threat of court action by the disqualified presidential aspirants.

The PPP presidential nominee is now banking his hopes on the courts with his 18-member legal team to overturn the decision.

The Chairperson of the Electoral Commission said the PPP’s flagbearer was disqualified because the number of subscribers to his forms did not meet the requirements of Regulation 7 (2) (b) of CI 94.

The commission said, one of his subscribers endorsed the form with different signatures in both portions of the nomination form, raising questions as to the legitimacy of one or both signatures.
