Nduom assures of better conditions for market women

Cape Coast, Mar. 2, GNA- The flagbearer of the Conventions People's Party (CPP), Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom, on Saturday said, it was now time for Ghanaians to vote the CPP into power, because the other Party's, which ruled the country for the past 16 years have disappointed the nation. He said politics was all about the "masses and the masses are the women" and that was why his party has taken issues of market women seriously and would do everything possible to improve upon their conditions when the CPP comes into power.

Dr Nduom said this when he visited the Kotokuraba and Abura Markets in Cape Coast as part of his nationwide tour. Dr Nduom, who was accompanied by his wife and some party executives were giving a rousing welcome at both markets as the women danced and sang to brass band music.

Dr Nduom said his party would eradicate poverty by providing flexible loan facilities for market women and set up a fund to support their needs, stressing that, this would help to boost their trade, create more jobs and also improve the economy of the nation. He urged the market women and the public to vote for the CPP in the December election, because it was the only party with "new ideas and fresh blood to propel the country forward". The market women appealed to Dr. Nduom to help provide electricity for the office of the Federation of Market Association (FMA), which is located in the market, since they have tried on countless occasions to get power for the office without success.
