Kumasi, March 18, GNA - A three-member delegation from the New Hampshire University in the United States of America (USA), on Monday paid a two day working visit to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), in Kumasi. Professor Lisa MacFarlane, Interim Vice Provost for Academic Affairs for New Hampshire University and leader of the delegation, said the visit was to collaborate with the University to enable the students enhance academic training and development. The delegation as part of the visit paid a courtesy call on Prof. Dr. Dr. Daniel Bour, Provost of the College of Art and Social Sciences (CASS) of KNUST.
Prof MacFarlane said the visit was to learn more about KNUST and also the University of Ghana, Legon, to help both students and Lecturers in exchange programmes. She said after the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding would be signed by the Universities, adding that, among the areas they would be discussing include capacity building for lecturers in various faculties, and other presentations to ensure the development of the Universities. Prof. Dr. Dr. Bour said the collaboration between the two universities would be good for both academic and economic empowerment since knowledge acquired by all would help to support the development of the universities.
He expressed the hope that the collaboration would further strengthen the bi-lateral relationship between the two countries.
