New Police recruits urged to help redeem the image of the service.

Koforidua, Nov. 1, GNA - The Eastern Regional Police Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Felix Asare-Darko, has called on new police recruits to serve with integrity to redeem the sinking image of the Service.

Addressing the passing out parade of 46 police recruits at the Eastern Region Police Training School at Koforidua on Wednesday, the ACP Asare-Darko told the new recruits that they were passing out at a time when the public perception of the police was bad and therefore they must discharge their duties within the confines of their professional code. He warned that the police administration would not shield any person, who misconducts himself in a way that could bring the image of the Service into disrepute.

ACP Asare-Darko, who was the reviewing officer at the parade, reminded the new recruits that their continuous stay in the Service would be determined by their performance during their 18 months' probationary period and urged them to eschew all negative vices in the course of their duties.

In all five recruits were presented with prizes for their sterling performance during the six months' training period.
