New SRC of UEW sworn into office

Winneba (C/R), May 27, GNA - The new Students Representative Council (SRC) of the University of Education, Winneba, has promised to use lawful means, intelligence, diplomacy, and pragmatic dialogue with authorities over students' welfare.

Miss Akua Agyman, the first female SRC President of the University, said this at the swearing in ceremony of the new SRC at Winneba Saturday.

She urged the student body to come to a compromise in "our decisive ideological struggles to remove the condition that inspire blind hatred within the University, a society where men and women can make their own choices, give answer to their conscience and live without any pre-conceived ideas".

Miss Agyman said the ultimate goal of her administration was to serve the interest of the entire student body of the university and called for support, hard work by the executives and the student to achieve this goal.

'Let us bear in mind that whatever we do here, whether fair or foul, just or unjust, would be measured against us in the near future". She assured the students that she and her executives would not abuse the confidence they had reposed in them and promised to work hard towards the promotion of life in the university.

The National President of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS), Mr William Yamoah, Miss Ophelia Quartey, Vice Dean of Students Affairs and Chaplain of the University, Rev.
