New Swiss Ambassador Arrives

The Swiss Ambassador designate to Ghana, Georg Zubler arrived in the country on Tuesday to assume duty. Mr Zubler, 63, a career diplomat is also accredited to Liberia, Sierra Leone and Togo. Speaking to journalists at the Kotoka International Airport, Mr. Zubler said Ghana and Switzerland have enjoyed a long-standing cordial relationship, which he hopes to improve upon during his tenure of office.

He said there was the need to improve upon the economic, agricultural and cultural co-operation as well as bilateral relation between both countries. Mr Zubler who embarks on his first duty tour of the sub-region expressed the hope that his country would assist Ghana to add value to her natural resources for export.

Mr Zubler, who has already served in Paris, Stockholm and Belgrade was met on arrival by Werner Wiedener, Deputy Head of Missions, Swiss Embassy and James Naadjie, Chief of Protocol Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
