The Odumase District Police Headquarters in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal of the Eastern Region is in recent times increasingly becoming accustomed to efforts from various quarters to assist the command boost it security operations after the command on Monday took possession of a set of office equipment.
The Command on Monday, April 1, 2019 took delivery of assorted office equipment donated by the Municipal Chief Executive for Lower Manya Krobo including a desktop computer, writing desk, monitors, a printer, together with various accessories at a short ceremony at the district police headquarters at Korletsom.
The donation of the equipment comes as the latest boost to the operations of the command after the commissioning of a new police post and donation of a Mahindra 4X4 Pick-up to the police service.
The items according to the Municipal chief executive is to help enhance the efforts of the Police Command in its fight against crime in the municipal.
While calling for firmer collaboration between the citizenry and the Police to ensure the adequate discharge of security in the municipal, Honourable Simon Kweku Tetteh assured the Police of his continued support for the Command to ensure maximum support for the people.
The donation of the equipment forms part of the efforts of the Assembly Chief who doubles as the Head of the Municipal Security Council (MUSEC) to offer continued support to the Command.
“The assembly has donated a new police post to the Command and it’s proper that we furnish it for them,” said Hon Simon Tetteh. “The assembly is equally putting in extra efforts to offer any assistance necessary for the Command to perform its functions and this therefore is just the beginning.”
Receiving the items on behalf of the Command, the District Police Commander for Odumase, ASP Selomey was relieved that the gesture would save the Command the trouble of printing sensitive security information at commercial outlets.
ASP Selomey while recounting the inconveniences of printing documents from commercial centers said the practice proved inordinately expensive and welcomed the MCE’s gesture as an timely intervention.
He however called for more support from relevant stakeholders to furnish the other offices in the new police post of the district police headquarters to enhance the work of the Command.
In February 2019, the former Minister of Energy, Mr. Boakye Agyarko donated a Mahindra 4x4 pickup to the Odumasi Police Command, an gesture which was expected to facilitate police patrol duties in the municipal, aimed at curbing the rising incidents of insecurity.
Earlier in 2018, the MCE for the area also commissioned a new police post with ancillary facilities for the Odumase Police Command.
