In its first newsletter which was presented to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) by its General Secretary Mr Antwi Boseako Gyan, the movement claimed it's aim was not to disintegrate any existing teacher's associations or organizations but to serve as an additional pressure group in seeking the interest and welfare of teachers. The movement claimed it would serve as a pressure group alongside existing organizations to fight for the betterment of teachers by drawing government attention to the problems facing teachers and help shape government policies on education. The newsletter said the movement would help raise the image and dignity of the teaching profession as to attract interested persons into the profession.
