English Premier League side Newcastle United are in pole position to sign Ghana striker Richmond Boakye-Yiadom from Red Star Belgrade.
The Magpies have now emerged as a firm favorite to land the goal machine after talks between Red Star and Stade Rennes hit the rocks.
Footballmdeinghana.com understand that Boakye is bent on moving to England and has already asked his representatives to accept the 6 million pounds bid from the Upon Tyne side.
Red Star were hoping to sell their leading attacker for around 8 million pounds but with just two days to the end of the window he could move to Newcastle for a lesser fee.
Boakye has banged in 23 goals in 28 appearances for the Serbian Reds this season and has been monitored for lots of clubs in Europe including Anderlecht, Celtic, and Cologne.
Crystal Palace are also keeping a close eye on him but he will only move there if they are able sell Wilfried Zaha and raise money.
