Newly outdoored queen mother of Suisi-Okwenya vows to prioritize jobs, education for the people

The newly enstooled Queen Mother for Suisi-Okwenya and Kodjonya-Adadlikuorsi in the Manya Krobo Traditional Area of the Eastern Region, has pledged to prioritise the welfare of the people during her reign.

Outlining her vision for the people of the Area during her outdooring ceremony at the palace of the Chief of Suisi-Okwenya, Manye Nokolawe I pointed out the creation of job opportunities and education of the people as her priority areas.

Manye Nokolawe’s enstoolment ends a twelve year search for a befitting queen mother for the people of Suisi-Okwenya.

The outdooring of the queen mother coincided with the annual rituals and ceremonies to mark the traditional calendar.

Pledging her dedicated support for women and the youth of Suisi-Okwenya, Manye Nokolawe asserted: “We would gather the unemployed and support those who should be in school and those desirous of skills training so they don’t become wayward."

The queen mother in wholeheartedly accepting her new position called for unity amongst the people and their support to enable her succeed in the discharge of her responsibilities.

The Chief of Suisi-Okwenya in the Manya Krobo Traditional Area of the Easten Region, Olepeme Sakinor Nanor I expressed relief that the Area after a long wait finally has a queen mother.

He described Manye Nokolawe as the overwhelming choice of the people, underscoring her humility, honor and affability.

According to him, her installation dignifies and compliments his position as the chief of Suisi-Okwenya.

The chief expressed confidence in the queen mother to rally the people together in unity to ensure progress of the community and every single person.
Nene Sakinor called on the people to heed the call of Manye Nokolawe for support and rally firmly behind her to guarantee her success.

Guest of honour at the event and Divisional chief of Piengua in the Manya Krobo Traditional Area charged the people to show the same reverence extended to Olepeme Sakinor to the new queen mother.

Stressing on the relevance of supporting the queen mother, Nene Tetteh Zogli III said the people must avail themselves to her at all times as their support was crucial to her success and that of the community.

The chief also urged them to support their leader, Olepeme Sakinor Nanor to reclaim their heritage to bring about the necessary development of the area

Manye Nokolawe I known privately as Sakinor Gladys, is married with two children.
