The NDC presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama, has promised to establish a university in Bawku when voted into power.
He made the promise at a durbar of chiefs and people of the Kusaug traditional area in the Bawku Naba Palace. The former president made the promise after a proposal was made to him by the Bawku Naba, Zugraan Naba Asigri Abugrago Azoka II.
The NDC leadership is currently in the Upper East Region, having kickstarted their campaign for the 2024 elections after launching the campaign in Tamale last week.
The former president and the NDC are expected to visit the Pusiga, Tempane, and Garu constituencies as part of their first-day tour of the Upper East Region.
They have so far received a rousing reception from supporters of the party.
