Nhyiaeso CPP candidate urges opponents to debate issues

Kumasi, Oct. 22, GNA - The Convention Peoples Party (CPP) parliamentary candidate for Nhyiaeso Constituency, Mr Kwame Appiah Boateng has urged candidates contesting the Nhyiaeso seat to organise a debate that would give the electorate a greater insight into their policies and programmes.

He said such a debate would enable the electorate to make informed choices during the elections. Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in Kumasi on Wednesday, Mr Boateng alias "Kwame Mayor" said the debate should be based on issues like development initiatives and family values which could help generate ideas for the speedy development of the constituency. He said holding of debates were important at all levels of the democratic dispensation since it afforded the electorate excellent opportunities to make informed choices from diverse views. He said when elected, he would help transform the Nhyiaeso Constituency and promote grass root participation, freedom and liberty through tolerance.

Mr Boateng, who holds a Masters Certificate in Financial Management from the University of South California, said he would initiate measures that would help empower the constituency financially by establishing "Nhyiaeso Constituency Mutual Fund". He said the fund would be invested in bonds and stocks and also establish commercial farms in partnership with experienced and hi-tech foreign investors. Mr Boateng said he would lead industrial revolution and bring more jobs to the people and appealed to investors to establish business in the area.

He pledged to provide public safety, neighbourhood police post and contribute to the eradication of conflicts in the area. Mr Boateng called on all the aspiring parliamentarians to join him to organise a peace rally before the elections to ensure peace before, during and after the elections.
