Nhyiaeso NDC supports President's nominee

Kumasi, Feb 3, GNA - The Nhyiaeso Constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has expressed its support for the President's nominee, Mr. Opoku Manu, as the Ashanti Regional Minister. A statement signed by Mr. Daniel Frimpong, secretary to Nhyiaeso Constituency NDC, said the region needed the calibre of Mr. Manu to help heal old wounds to unite the region.

It said when Mr. Manu was Ashanti Regional Co-ordinating Director in the early 1990's, there were a lot of developmental activities and that it was not a fluke that he was selected to the position of Director of Finance later.

The statement debunked the unfortunate allegation by a group of unknown acclaimed NDC members that Mr. Manu was unknown as "malicious and frivolous which does not even merit attention". It commended Mr. Ohene Agyekum, Ashanti Regional Chairman of NDC, for the role he played in making the party more vibrant in the region adding that "his combination of courage and truthfulness also helped to put the party on a higher pedestal." The statement congratulated President John Evans Atta Mills for his victory in the recent presidential election and called on all Ghanaians to rally behind him for the development of the country. 3 Feb. 03
