Accra, April 20, GNA - Musah Sadik, a Nigerien Businessman, has been granted 20 million cedis bail by an Accra Circuit Court for unqualified registration during the recent Voters' Registration Exercise. Sadik, who pleaded not guilty, would reappear on May 6.
Prosecuting Chief Inspector of Police George Abavelim told the court presided over by Mrs Elizabeth Ankumah that Sadik who has stayed in Ghana for the past three years, went to the Richard Acquaye Memorial School Registration Centre in Accra on March 26 to register during the registration exercise and gave his hometown as Tamale.
Chief Inspector Abavelim said Sadik went to Kumasi on a business trip and when one of his business partners saw the indelible ink on his thumb and he challenged him.
The Prosecution said Sadik was handed over to the Kumasi Police, who later transferred the case to Accra.
