The National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams has said the leadership of the party has no intention of sanctioning the Odododiodio lawmaker, Nii Lante Vanderpuije over the latter’s comments in connection with Jailed former GYEEDA Boss, Abuga Pele.
Mr. Kofi Adams said the party’s official statement released after Nii Lante’s claims should put the matter to rest.
Nii Lante is facing public backlash for the unfortunate comments he made over the weekend, as his own party issued a statement to dissociate itself from the lawmaker’s comments.
Former President ,Jerry John Rawlings has asked the National Democratic Congress(NDC) leadership to pack out people like Nii Lantey Vanderpuije, and others to save the party’s image.
The former military leader in a tweet said “fortunately, this kind of talk belongs to a handful of people in the NDC leadership who have gained power and influence they do not deserve and the sooner they are packed off, the better for the NDC and this country.
But Mr. Adams said its strongly- worded statement on the matter is dismissive enough and shows clearly the party’s position on the issue.
“Nii Lante spoke on the sidelines in an interview with the Press. So it wasn’t a presentation where he spoke to the gathering on the Unity Walk platform. He wasn’t speaking on behalf of the party, and that is why it was important for us to issue a quick statement to bring clarity on the matter. And nobody should think that the party’s statement was an after thought.” he told host Fiifi Banson in an interview on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.5 FM.
The Odododiodoo legislator, Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye had stated that the NDC would win the 2020 general elections so it can release jailed Former GYEEDA boss Abuga Pele.
