A pro-New Patriotic Party (NPP) group calling itself the Klottey Korle United Front are full of joy over the news of the reported apology of their former Constituency Chairman Valentino Nii Noi Nortey.

The group made up of polling station officers and deep blue members of the party in the area are of the view that their cardinal objective as party officers is to spread the good news about the party and also mobilise support for the party and thus urge the party to readmit the former chairman.

‘As a party, our core objective is to mobilize members as much as possible without leaving anyone behind for the purpose of winning Election to govern. Therefore, we the members of Klottey Korle NPP United Front would like to add our voice to various calls by other members for the party to accept back the hard-working prodigal son who has done so much for the Constituency. As he said he has learnt his lessons, and never again will he repeat such a thing in the future’, Robert Prempeh told mynewsgh.com.

The group is begging the party to forgive their former Chairman. ‘On this note we call on all well-meaning NPP members and sympathizers to add their voice to theirs and call on the Leadership of our great party to forgive the former Constituency Chairman Valentino Nii Noi Nortey’ they pleaded.

Nii Noi Nortey defied the plea of some elders of the party including President Kufour and then candidate Nana Addo to rescind his decision to contest in the 2016 general election as an independent parliamentary candidate.

Valentino on his birthday on the 3 May, asked the party to forgive him for his decision and its consequences.

Mr Nortey had beaten the lead counsel, Philip Addison of Nana Addo in the Klottey Korle constituency during the August 2, 2015 primaries, but for some reasons the party didn’t put up a defense when Addison later challenged the election in court, and thus secured a default judgment thereby forcing Nii Noi to go solo.

Pundits, think that Noetey’s breakaway cost the party in the constituency.
