After a 22-year rift, the Mantse Ankrah Royal Family has come together to celebrate their first Homowo Festival.

The joyous occasion, held at the Royal Palace and Family Cemetery Museum in North Kaneshie, marked a new era of unity for the family.

The maiden Homowo festival brought families from all three sections together for the first time after 22 years of dispute.

The Mantse Ankrah Royal Family has three sections: Ankrah, Ayi, and Okanta, each headed by its leader. The supreme of these three is the overall head of the composite family, who is now Nii Okanta Ankrah II.

Addressing the gathering, Nii Okanta Ankrah II expressed gratitude to God, their forefathers, and the gods for making the Homowo celebration possible and peaceful after many years of dispute and called on their family members to maintain the unity they are building.

He also called on all Ghanaians and those in diaspora to join hands and build a unified family.

The festival was graced by esteemed guests, including the Paramount Chief of Otublohom, Nii Dodoo Nsaki II, and other revered chiefs, queen mothers, Asofoatsemee, Asafoanyemee, and sub-chiefs from Ga State.
