Nine Ambassadors Receive Instruments Of Commission

Nine Ambassadors and High Commissioners have received their instruments of commission at the Castle in Accra. They include Alan John Kwadwo Kyeremanteng, Ambassador for the United States of America; John Evonlah Aggrey designated to Ethiopia; Kwasi Baah Boakye, High Commissioner for Zimbabwe and Lt. General B.K. Akafia, Ambassador to Egypt.

The rest are Mrs. Maureen Abla Amematekpor for Namibia, Daniel Kufuor Osei, Ambassador at large; Isaac Osei for the United Kingdom; Kwabena Mensa-Bonsu for Togo and Dr. Isaac Antwi Omane for Cuba. Four of them are career diplomats.

President Kufuor reminded them that the position entrusted to them as envoys is one that requires their loyalty, and urged them to use their positions to be advocates in the interest of the country.

Representing the newly commissioned envoys, the UK High Commissioner designate, Isaac Osei, pledged their loyalty to Ghana and government’s efforts at strengthening the economic ties with the rest of the world.
