Mr Robert Quainoo-Arthur, Mfantseman District Chief Executive, said the election was the beginning of the race for the 2008 general elections and urged them to work as a team.

He appealed to the losers to co-operate with the executive for the success of the Party and to enable it to win the elections. Mr Asamoah Adjei Kusi, Presiding Member of the District Assembly, appealed to government functionaries to visit their constituencies to explain government policies and programmes to the people.

Mr Albert Essuman, Central Regional Secretary of the Party, cautioned the executive against complacency adding that, "No one should think that the 2008 general election will be an easy race for the NPP". He pointed out that the NPP could only win with a unity of purpose and hard work.
