Nine new suspects arrested in connection with post-election incidents – Police

The Ghana Police Service says it has arrested nine more suspects in connection with post-election-related violent activities.

The police in its update said the nine new suspects were arrested over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of suspects arrested to 132.

According to the police, the nine new suspects were put before the court and have been remanded and are to reappear at a later date.

Additionally, three out of four suspects arrested within the past 48 hours have also been put before court and remanded.

The fourth person the police added has been granted police inquiry bail.

The statement added that the number of suspects remanded in custody is 45, while 71 suspects have been granted police inquiry bail.

Sixteen other suspects are on court bail.

Meanwhile, the police say the investigation into the shooting incident at Nsawam Adoagyiri is still ongoing, with the victim who was shot receiving medical attention.
