Nkoranza (B/A), Aug. 10, GNA - Major Derek Yaw Oduro (rtd) and Mr Kwame Amporfo-Twumasi, Members of Parliament for Nkoranza North and South respectively, have congratulated Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo on his election as NPP's flagbearer for the 2012 general election.
They commended delegates for the peaceful manner they conducted the epoch-making exercise to elect the presidential candidate from among the five contestants. The MPs told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Nkoranza that the results clearly showed that members of the party had confidence in Nana Akufo Addo to lead NPP to wrestle power from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in 2012.
They called on supporters of the other contestants "to throw their weight" behind Nana Akufo Addo for the party's resounding victory in the next elections.
The MPs urged the other four contestants to get closer to the presidential candidate and share ideas with him so they could develop the necessary strategies to unseat the NDC.
"The victory of Nana Akufo Addo is a victory for all members of the NPP and it is necessary we all forge ahead in unity and embark on vigorous campaign to win more members to vote massively for the party in 2012.
