Nkrumah Ideological Institute wants AU to get Nigeria's Minister World Bank post

The Interim Co-ordinating Committee of the Kwame Nkrumah Ideological Institute (KNII) on Tuesday commended the African Union (AU) for its dedicated support to the candidacy of Nigeria’s Finance Minister to the post of President of the World Bank.

The re-registered institute, therefore, called on all Member States of the AU to immensely endorse, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iwela’s candidature so that the warmth of the African Personality would be felt within the corridors of the most powerful economic arm in the world.

The commendation was contained in a statement issued on behalf of the Committee by Mr Ben Anyagre, and copied to the GNA in Accra.

"Indeed, over the years, African Human Resources have proven and excelled in various fields of endeavours based on enviable academic credentials, competent rich experiences, interwoven with rich foresight to turn and change challenges towards societal growth," it added.

The statement said: "We, therefore, strongly hope that the AU will use its influence to lobby its counterpart institutions across the globe to ensure full endorsement of the candidature of Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala for the post of World Bank President".

The KNII congratulated Dr Okonjo-Iweala for reaching this height due to her selfless service to humanity.**
