A married man claims his life has been steeped in unimaginable sorrow and agony after he was hit with the twin disasters of discovering that he is not the biological father of his two-year-old son and also being chased out of a two-bedroom house he built on a piece of land owned by his wife.

The man, who chose to remain anonymous, shared his ordeal during a session with Pastor Prince Elisha Osei Secret’s court programme on a YouTube channel, making heart-wrenching disclosures about his wife.

“Some years ago, I went for an engagement at Laterbiokoshie and saw a beautiful woman walking with a friend of mine. I told my friend that I was interested in the lady, and he helped me connect with her. I told her I liked her, and she agreed to be with me.

“We met one day at a restaurant and had sex the same day after the date. Later on, I realized that she was pregnant, and because I didn’t want the shame, I took steps and married her.

“We did several things together, and our rent was due, but because of the pregnancy, our landlord allowed us to stay in the house until she delivered.

“So, I decided to use some money I had and take a loan in addition to buy land so we could build before she delivered. She told me that her mother, my in-law, had given her land, so we could build on that land, and I agreed because it was a good idea,” he said.

He continued, “I made her make all the necessary arrangements for the building, and she was in charge of everything. I was sending her money to ensure that the house progressed, not knowing she was using her details for all the documents without my knowledge.

“After the building was completed, we moved into the house. It got to a time when my wife was nowhere to be found. At that time, our child was two years old. I did all I could, but I couldn’t locate my wife. So, I called my friend who introduced her to me, and told him the situation. He said he had hidden something from me and wanted to confess.”

According to the man, he recently discovered that his two-year-old son isn’t his after a DNA test confirmed the paternity of the child, despite having spent thousands of cedis on him for the past two years.

To add salt to injury, his in-law is also asking him to vacate the two-bedroom house he built on land she gave him.

The man explained that his woes began after he conducted a DNA test which revealed that his son did not belong to him.

“My friend told me that at the time I met my wife, she was already pregnant, but he couldn’t tell me and the man who got her pregnant was abroad, and he had come back to Ghana, so that is where my wife is.

“Later, I took it upon myself to take the child to the hospital for a DNA test, which proved that I am not the father of the child. I went to where my wife was and called a family meeting without her knowledge and told them about the DNA test results. My wife said I had disgraced her, so I should leave the house,” he added.

“My in-law is also saying that I should move from her land, even though I built the house with my own resources. She is ejecting me because the land belongs to her, she said she won't marry me again but I have to leave the house. And she has been bringing men into the house. Now, I am very confused and need help.”

The wife, together with the mother, also appeared before the pastor, admitting that even though the man was right in a way, because of the disgrace he had brought on the wife, he should vacate the residence.
