A National Women Organiser aspirant of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Hajia Zainab Joyce Mahama, says no single political party in Ghana’s current democratic dispensation can serve more than two terms.

Speaking on ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ on Happy FM she said ‘’The NDC did a lot for Ghanaians, but because the party was in its eighth year, Ghanaians desired change. It wasn’t the fault of the 2016 Executives of the party that the NDC lost the elections,” she said.

She also stated that the New Patriotic Party led by Nana Akufo-Addo also deceived Ghanaians with palatable promises and swayed voters to their side. But with the current turn of events, Ghanaians have realised that the NPP lied their way to power and are in a better position to appreciate the good work of former president Mahama.’’

Hajia enumerated activities aimed at revamping the women’s base of the NDC party towards re-capturing power in the 2020 polls when she is retained as the party’s women organiser.

Throwing more light on some of her past achievements, she recounted training women on public speaking, and grooming among others, in collaboration with the Fredrich Ebert Stiftung, a US-based organisation.

She also recollected sending some women outside Ghana for seminars, providing slots for Muslim women to go for the Hajj in Mecca, as well as empowering the grassroots with logistics, especially the kayayees (head porters).
