Kumasi, Nov 25, GNA - Mr Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu, Minister of State and Member of Parliament (MP) for Suame, said that no government in the history of the country could surpass the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government in terms of execution of projects.
He said Ghanaians should show appreciation to the government for the provision of schools, hospitals, clinics, roads, electricity among others to improve their living conditions, Mr. Mensah-Bonsu was addressing a rally at Maakro in Kumasi, as part of campaign to educate the people about the policies and achievements of the party since it assumed office in 2001.
He said the Capitation Grant, School Feeding Programme, National Health Insurance Scheme, National Youth Employment Programme (NYEP) and others policies were testimonies of government's commitment to the develop of the country.
Mr. Mensah-Bonsu urged the electorate to vote massively for the NPP to enable it to continue its good works.
He said under the NPP, Bremang, Old Suame, New Suame, Kronum, Maakro and other communities have benefited from the construction of classroom blocks, provision of exercise books, school desks, water, electricity and rehabilitation of roads.
Mr. Mensah-Bonsu said he used part of the MP's Common Fund for the award of more that 100 scholarships to needy but brilliant students in the area to enable them to attend school from the basic stage to the tertiary level. He said he paid the premium on the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) for of 700 people to enable them to have access to health care delivery.
Mr. Mensah-Bonsu appealed to party supporters to use decent language in their campaigns to avoid violence on 7 December.
Mr. Owusu Afriyie, Co-ordinator of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo Campaign Team in the Brong Ahafo and Ashanti Regions, said Mr. Mensah-Bonsu was an experienced and energetic politician, who could contribute more to the development of the area if retained as MP.
He appealed to electorate to vote massively for Nana Akufo-Addo as president and Mr Mensah-Bonsu as MP for the area. Mr. Owusu Afriyie appealed to the NPP supporters undertake house-to-house campaign to educate the people about the achievements and manifesto of the party to help win more votes on December 7.
