The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has denied reports that the National Security has banned media houses from discussing the Supreme Court (SC) verdict after it is given on Thursday.
The National Security met senior journalists and media owners last week over the impending Supreme Court verdict.
Some reports have been making the rounds that the National Security asked the media not to discuss the verdict.
But the GJA President, Affail Monney in an interview with XYZ News said the meeting only highlighted the role of the media in promoting peace.
He explained: “Never was it [by National Security] dictated that there should be no comments or analyses on the Supreme Court verdict”.
“Neither was there any ban imposed on phone-ins,” Mr. Affail Monney said.
