The National Organizer of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams has denied media reports purporting that the NDC has distanced itself from the Presidency due to the President’s inability to sack his Chief of Staff and others from office.
At a press conference organized by the party at its headquarters in Accra, Mr. Kofi Adams urged the media to cross-check their facts with the appropriate agencies or persons before going public with such sensitive issues.
It would be recalled that some newspapers considered to be pro-NDC published on their front pages that the NDC has detached itself from government over the perpetual stay in office of the Chief of Staff, Prosper Bani.
But addressing the media, Kofi Adams said the relationship between the NDC and the presidency is solid, adding that they are working hand in hand to solve the myriad of challenges in the country.
“The party is solidly behind His Excellency the President in all the decisions that he take. We support his team; the Ministers and various persons that are working for him. For those who are working hard we will continue to support and encourage them. Where there is need to make any changes we will not hesitate to support that,” he said.
He added, “At no point in time has the party taken any decision to distance itself from the President or the Presidency because of the continued stay in office of one person or the other, specifically I think the Chief of Staff’s name was mentioned; that is not true,” he bemoaned.
Touching on the energy challenge, the National Organizer said the party, government and other well-meaning Ghanaians are working assiduously to address the power crises, thus urged businesses to keep faith with government in that direction.
