No regrets in aligning my journey with Bawumia - Akufo-Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has spoken warmly of his partnership with Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential candidate, expressing his unwavering confidence in Bawumia's leadership.

Speaking at the party’s manifesto launch at the Ghana Secondary Technical School (GSTS) in Takoradi on Sunday, August 18, 2024, President Akufo-Addo reflected on their 16-year journey together.

"Sixteen years ago, Mahamudu Bawumia and I first met and decided to join our lives together. I can say that there’s not one day that I’ve regretted joining my life to his and his to mine," President Akufo-Addo stated.

He praised Bawumia for his loyalty, honesty, dedication, and patriotism, qualities that have made their partnership in opposition and government successful.

President Akufo-Addo also strongly appealed to Ghanaians to entrust the stewardship of the country for the next eight years to Bawumia and his running mate, Matthew Opoku Prempeh.

"I don’t think there’s anybody in this country better placed to testify about the capacity of our presidential ticket than me, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo," he asserted.

He emphasized that the success of plans, policies, and programs ultimately depends on the character, strength, and determination of the leaders behind them.

"At the end of the day, plans, policies, and programmes, if there’s no character, if there’s no strength, if there’s no determination of will on the part of the people involved, they just remain plans and programmes," Akufo-Addo noted.

Akufo-Addo assured the public that Bawumia would fulfil every promise he had made.

"Whatever commitments he has made before you and before the people of Ghana, I can put my hand on my heart and say he will deliver on each one of those commitments," he concluded.
