The African Women in Agribusiness Awards has officially opened nominations for its 2024 edition.

Following the success of the 2023 awards, where Ms. Edith Wheatland Akorsah of Rockland Farms was honoured as the African Agribusiness Woman of the Year, the 2024 event promises to celebrate and elevate the remarkable contributions of women across the continent’s agribusiness sector.

The 2024 African Women in Agribusiness Awards is scheduled for November.

The third edition of the awards will also mark Women in Agribusiness Week (WAW).

Organizers of the event will use the opportunity to celebrate the achievements of outstanding women in agribusiness.

This year’s categories include the following:

5. Green Business of the Year
6. Business Diversification Award
7. Export Business of the Year
8. Rising Agribusiness Award
9. Inclusivity Champion Award
10. Young Agripreneur of the Year
11. Agri-Marketplace of the Year
12. Agri-Finance of the Year
13. Agritech of the Year
14. Agri-Media of the Year
15. Agri-Journalist of the Year
16. Best Agriculture/Agribusiness Student Award
17. Best Advocacy Award
18. Best Farmer Award
19. Best Packaging Company of the Year
20. Environmental Champion of the Year
21. Agroecological Excellence Award
22. Best Agroecologist of the Year
23. African Agribusiness Woman of the Year

Individuals and organizations are encouraged to submit nominations to recognize the outstanding women in the agribusiness industry.
