Non-Formal Division presents roofing sheets of facilitators

Amasaman (G/A), May 3, GNA - Mr Raynold Tettey Mensah, the Ga West District Co-ordinator of the Non-formal Education Division of the Ministry of Education, at the weekend said more than 300 people including aged farmers and fishermen have been taught to read and write in the district since the beginning of the programme. Mr Mensah said this when 32 facilitators were presented with awards to motivate them to continue teaching in remote areas.

Each of the facilitators was presented with 20 roofing sheets. Mr Siegfried Kwame Addo, Assistant District Co-ordinating Director, commended the volunteers for devoting their time to educate the people in remote parts of the district.

He said the district assembly last year repaired one of the vehicles of the division to enable the staff to travel to the hinterland.
