North Ayawaso MP donates to associations

Dr Mustapha Ahmed, Minister of State in-charge of Development Authorities at the Office of the President, on Wednesday, said he is committed to promoting the welfare of the people in North Ayawaso constituency.

He said the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government under President John Dramani Mahama was determined to offer employable skills such as tailoring, hairdressing and batik tie and dye making, to the youth to advance the “Better Ghana Agenda”.

Dr Ahmed made the pledge when he donated sewing machines, 100 plastic chairs, 10 units of pick axe, shovels, rakes and two wheel barrows worth Ghc4,000 to Mahama Ladies and Victory Hunters associations in the constituency at Mamobi.

Dr Ahmed, who is also Member of Parliament for North Ayawaso said efforts were being made to help the youth to acquire employable skills.

He also donated a hair dryer, hair rollers and other hairdressing equipment to Madam Gifty Opare, a hairdresser, whose saloon caught fire at Mamobi.

Dr Ahmed said late last year, he released 20,000 Ghana cedis to the Ayawaso Sub-metro office of the National Health Insurance Scheme for registration and renewal of health insurance cards for those who could not afford to do so.

Madam Adama Gariba, a member of the Mahama Ladies Association, thanked the MP for the gesture, and appealed to him to support the youth in the area to realize their dreams.
