Northern Region PNC inaugurates Dr Mahama Fan Club

Tamale, Aug. 16, GNA- A 22-member executive of a newly-formed "Dr Mahama 54 Battalion Fan Club" was on Saturday inaugurated in Tamale with a call for the empowerment of the youth to make them active partners in decision-making process.

Mr Osman Kasim, chairman of the Club who made the call at the inaugural ceremony said the youth should be in the vanguard to re-organise society and give everybody a chance to contribute meaningfully to national development.

He urged all Ghanaians to forge ahead in unity "to break the shackles of economic hardships that have bedevilled the people of this country". Mr Kasim explained that the Club was formed to offer the youth a forum within the PNC to help push the party's agenda forward and win power in the December election.

Explaining the rational behind the name of the club, he said originally, 54 members came together to form the Club, whose membership currently stood at more than 100.

Addressing the gathering on behalf of the Northern Regional executive of the PNC, Mr Iddrisu Andani Mu-Azu, the secretary, noted that the party derived its strength from discipline among the rank and file. Mr Mu-Azu said a new era in the political history of this country was yet to begin adding: "For me, that era needs a leadership that is resolute, determined, focused and willing to fight for the justifiable aspirations of the nation".

Members of the Fan Club later took the oath of office and pledged to work hard to achieve victory for the party.
