Northern Zongo Chiefs laud President, Otumfuor-led Committee for bringing peace to Dagbon

The Zongo Chiefs in the Northern Region of Ghana, have expressed their profound gratitude to the President and the Otumfuor-led Committee of Eminent Chiefs who have worked to see to the end of the long standing chieftaincy dispute in Dagbon.

The Chiefs, led by the Tamale Zongo Chief, Shehu Abdul Mummin Dalhu who sent the message of appreciation on behalf of the other Chiefs, also indicated that the enskinment of the newly installed overlord of the Dagbon Kingdom in the Northern Region, Ya-Na Abukari Mahama II, is indicative of the tireless works and efforts the President, the Committee and all other stakeholders invested in the peace process, and commended them as such.

He averred that what happened in the Northern Region regarding the end of the dispute in Dagbon and the installation of a new Yaa Naa is an achievement by the President in accomplishing the desire of the people regarding peace, unity and stability.

Shehu Abdul Mumin Dalhu who double as the chief Imam and the spiritual leader of the shia mission, however appealed to the people of Dagbon and the Northern Region at large to rally behind Yaa Naa Abukari Mahama II for the region to forge ahead for the accelerated development of the area.

He averred that the new Yaa-Naa during his enskinment had outlined his vision towards rebuilding Dagbon, a vision the Chiefs considered laudable which must be supported by all.

According to Shehu Abdul Mummin Dalhu , whatever vision the New Yaa-Naa has for his people can only be achieved if the people remain in the spirit of unity.

He said unity is the building block of any growth and development and said, the onus now lies with the people who have supported government efforts to maintain what they have all worked to achieve.

He concluded by praying for all who contributed in diverse ways for the accomplishments of the new chapter in Dagbon.
